Gianna never wrote the book about her experiences and, as far as I am aware, did not leave a personal archive. She even tore up the letters she received as soon as she had replied to them. This account of Gianna's life and work is heavily reliant on the correspondence of Ann Cornelisen and it is hoped that further research and the contributions of others with a different view might eventually lead to a more objective biography. Thus, any comments or contributions will be gratefully received and the site amended accordingly.
There are many gaps in the account and it is hoped that some of these can be filled as the result of further research in the Vassar Archive. The SCF archive has been closed to researchers for several years but it is in the process of being handed to the University of Birmingham and it is hoped that it might contain relevant information.
